Medal of Honor tour visits the 380th
Retired Army Lt. Col. Alfred V. Rascon, Medal of Honor recipient, speaks with Tech. Sgt. Robert Hood, 380th Civil Engineer Squadron, explossive oridence disposal shop at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia on April 12, 2010. Colonel Rascon earned the Medal of Honor for actions for taken on March 16, 1966, in the Republic of Vietnam. Then a specialist fourth class, his "extraordinary valor in he face of deadly enemy fire, his heroism in rescuing the wounded, and his gallantry by repeatedly risking his own life for his fellow soldiers are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service." Former Army Staff Sgt. Don. J. Jenkins, Medal of Honor recipient, autographs a poster for display at the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing at a non-disclosed location in Southwest Asia on April 12, 2010. Sergeant Jenkins earned his Medal of Honor on Ja. 6, 1969, when he was a private first class serving in Vietnam. His citation states that Sergeant Jenkins' "extraordinary valor, dedication, and indomitable spirit inspired his fellow soldiers to repilse the determined enemy attack and ultimately defeat the larger force." Sergeant Jenkins and another Medal of Honor winner, retired Lt. Col. Alfred V. Rascon, visited the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing as part of a tour with Armed Forces Entertainment.
