Airmen from the 380th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron compete in a tug of war challenge during Police Week, May 20, 2022 at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. Since the first service memorial gathering in Senate Park, Washington D.C., U.S. agencies across the nation and abroad have held events to honor fallen officers and acknowledge their sacrifices.

380th AEW honors Defenders and Special Agents during Police Week
Staff Sgt. Jacob Yarborough and Staff Sgt. Sean Tucker, both 380th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron military working dog handlers, along with Teri, a 380th ESFS MWD, put on a demonstration for National Police Week, May 20, 2022 at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. The U.S. military uses MWDs in all branches of service and they are trained for specific jobs, including tracking, explosive detection, patrol, search and rescue, and attack.
