Aerial porters assigned to the 8th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, load container delivery system bundles onto a C-17 Globemaster III for an airdrop mission, May 9, 2010, at a base in Southwest Asia. Airmen deployed from the 8th Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Lewis-McChord took over airdrop operations from the 14th Airlift Squadron deployed from Joint Base Charleston, S.C. The 14th AS Airmen set a new record for the number of bundles and amount of weight airdropped during an Expeditionary Airlift Squadron deployment. They completed missions over 160 drop zones, delivering more than 5,000 bundles, which in turn resulted in more than 8.1 million pounds of supplies distributed to warfighters throughout the theater.
