NDI technician keeps Transit Center aircraft safe
Staff Sgt. Joshua Mound reviews a magnetic particle solution test on the landing gear of KC-135 Stratotanker Aug. 8, 2012 at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. Mound, a non-destructive inspection technician assigned to the 376th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, employed a makeshift darkroom on the Transit Center flightline in order to use an ultraviolet light during daylight hours. The test helped verify no heat stress or cracks were present prior to replacing the brakes and tires on the aircraft.
