Pilot reaches 2,000 miles

U.S. Air Force Maj. Greg McKenzie, 99th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron U-2 pilot, directs U.S. Air Force Maj. Patrick Hudson, 99th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron U-2 pilot, via radio on how close he is to the ground during the landing of Hudson’s final combat sortie, May 17, 2013, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Due to the limited visibility and associated challenges while flying in a full pressure suit, a mobile pilot is used to ensure that the aircraft is landed safely. McKenzie hails from Merced, Calif., and Hudson is native to Fayette, Miss., both are deployed from Beale Air Force Base, Calif. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Joshua J. Garcia)
