U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Blake Skidmore, 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron loadmaster, is ready to perform an airdrop mission over Afghanistan on a C-17 Globemaster III filled with bundles of supplies, March 30, 2013. The loadmaster performs calculations and plans cargo and passenger placement to keep aircraft within permissible center of gravity limits throughout flight. Loadmasters ensure cargo is placed on aircraft in such a way as to prevent overloading sensitive sections of the airframe and cargo floor.
