On the job with: Metals Technology

Airman 1st Class Jerry Brock, 376th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron metals technology journeyman, welds scrap metal, using it to seal small open areas on a B-5 stand gate latch lock Feb. 12, 2013, at Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. Brock often inspects scrap metal for possible use in current projects. "If it's safe and passes inspection, I'll use it; I can recycle and attempt to keep costs down," said Brock. "I take pride in my job, I strive to ensure that even when a product has been cracked or broken, that when I fix it, not only is fixed 100 percent but that it appears as if it was never broken in the first place."
