Deployed locations like the Transit Center are known for hosting the Air Force Marathon to help build morale and promoting fitness among participants. The marathon originates at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio and takes place every year in September to coincide with the establishment of the U.S. Air Force as an independent service 65 years ago.
