Chapel, first responders honor 9/11 heroes

Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Larry Layne delivers remarks during the 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Wings of Hope Chapel, Sept. 10, 2012, Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. The ceremony allowed Transit Center personnel an opportunity to pay respect to the first responders of September 11, 2001. Audience members revisited the timeline of events and stories of first responders and civilians who paid the ultimate sacrifice on that day. Among those remembered was New York City Fire Department Chief Peter Ganci whose namesake can be found around the Transit Center. Layne provides ministry to service members as the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing chaplain. He is deployed from the Alabama Air National Guard and is a native of Montgomery, Ala.
