Staff Sgt. Christopher Wiedmer (left) was wounded when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device during the completion of Operation New Dawn. Airman 1st Class Daniel Clark (right) was driving that day and was uninjured in the attack. Both Airmen are assigned to the 387th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron. Wiedmer was awarded the Purple Heart, and both Wiedmer and Clark received the Army Combat Action Badge and Army Commendation Medals, as well as the Air Force Combat Action Medal.
