Afghan National Army religious cultural advisor Col. Khalilullah (right) blesses a Holy Quran that U.S. Army Chaplain (Maj.) Brian Curry (center) presented to him during a partnership visit at Kandahar Airfield Nov. 15. This visit was the first opportunity the two sets of religious advisors have had to exchange information about their roles within the military, and through their discussions they discovered many similarities, including their roles as educators amongst the unit. While Khalilullah and the other Afghan advisors focus on cultural and religious training, they are also responsible for the literacy and English language training within their units. Meanwhile, Curry and his other chaplains and assistants provide spiritual support, suicide prevention training, and financial readiness training. (U.S. Army Photo by Sgt. 1st Class Stephanie L. Carl)
