Photo essay: Transit Center celebrates Marine Corps’ birthday

A Marine Corps Color Guard presents the colors during a ceremony celebrating the Corps’ 236th birthday at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, Nov. 10. Each year during the Marine Corps’ birthday celebration Maj. Gen. John Lejeune’s Marine Corps Order No. 47, Series 1921 is read. The order summarized the history, mission and tradition of the Corps. It also directed that it should be read to every command each Nov. 10 in honor of the birthday of the Marine Corps. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Tammie Moore)
