Air Force Marathon at Bagram Airfield Afghanistan

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Contestants take off from the starting line of the Air Force Marathon held here Sept. 17, 2011. The official Air Force marathon is held each year at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; however, organizers at Bagram Airfield ensure deployed members have the opportunity to participate in the popular event by holding an equally challenging marathon at Bagram Airfield. The event is held the third Saturday in September each year in celebration of the U.S. Air Force birthday. This year, the Air Force turned 64 years old.
