U.S. advisors help IqAF kick off inaugural weather forecaster program

(Right) Staff Sgt. Dan Alexander, a weather advisor deployed from the Air Force Weather Initial Skills Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., reviews weather data with an Iraqi air force weather forecaster at the IqAF's weather center June 14. U.S. Air Force weather advisors have been training the initial cadre of Iraqi air force weather forecasters over the past three years. The training entered a new chapter of autonomy last month when IqAF’s cadre began teaching 18 new cadets at the weather center in Baghdad.
