Senior Airman Jamie Jackson removes a formation light from an A-10C Thunderbolt II during a phase inspection, Feb. 22, 2011, at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The 451st Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron conducts a phase inspection every 500 flight hours. Twenty inspections have been conducted in the past five months indentifying and repairing more than 6,000 total discrepancies.
