Col. Patrick X. Mordente, commander of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, runs through a pre-flight checklist at an undisclosed air base here Aug. 31, 2010, as he prepares to pilot the wing's last C-130 mission into Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the past three months alone, the 386th AEW has airlifted more than 74,000 passengers and 1,700 tons of cargo into and out of Iraq aboard C-130s in support of OIF. An additional 82,000 passengers and 34,000 tons of cargo have been carried on C-17s based here.
