During a recent mission, Mohamed Jusef, a recent graduate of the Afghan National Army Air Corps and 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade Mi-17 Crew Chief course, is credited for saving a Mi-17 aircraft and crew of Jayhoon 579 by directing the aircraft to “STOP BACK” while the aircraft was hovering backwards on a very tight helipad at the Orgun-E Foward Operating Base.
