military aircraft are expensive and scarce resources, successful air power commanders must use them where they will deliver the highest payoff. In recognition of this principle, the Afghanistan National Army Air Corps (ANAAC) shifted some of its aircraft to Kandahar Airfield on Sauturday, February 13th, 2010. The arrival of an additional Mi-17 medium-lift utility helicopter and two Mi-35 attack helicopters doubled the size of the ANAAC’s fleet at Kandahar Air Wing, and demonstrated its commitment to support operations in southern Afghanistan in the Taliban stronghold of Marjah and beyond.
