San Antonio native keeps deployed security forces unit prepared as logistics superintendent

Master Sgt. Manuel A. Mateo IV is the logistics superintendent with the 380th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron at a non-disclosed base in Southwest Asia. Here he is pictured in May 28, 2010. In his position, he manages five logistical support sections within the unit supporting the operational security and escort force protection function of the unit with a $2 million-plus vehicle inventory. He also manages a vehicle section, a $3 million equipment, directs weapons proficiency training and maintenance and coordinates inventory and resupply of unit ammunition stores for the combat arms maintenance and training section.
