PAKTIKA PROVINCE, Afghanistan ? Petty Officer First Class Wilson Santiago writes notes on his reminder board at Bagram Air Field, May 8. Santiago is a member of the Paktika Provincial Reconstruction Team, but is currently the only PRT member from his unit assigned to BAF as a liaison officer. Paktika PRT is a joint team whose mission is to help legitimize the government of Afghanistan through development, governance and agricultural initiatives. Santiago, a native of Irvington, N.J. and 1999 graduate of Irvington High School, is deployed from the USS George H. W. Bush where he is the leading petty officer of the chief?s mess.
