Senior Airman Michael Schoettlin, an HC-130P “Combat King” Hercules loadmaster, deployed to the 79th Expeditionary Rescue Squadron, brushes his teeth as the remainder of the HC-130 crew load a van to taking them to their aircraft for an alert mission, April 9, 2010, Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. The squadron, which stood up March 29, and went on alert status April 8, consists of 86 Airmen. The aircrews, maintainers and pararescuemen making up the squadron bring a unique capability to back to Afghanistan, by providing a dedicated fixed-wing, multirole platform used for personnel recovery, medical evacuation, casualty evacuation and aeromedical evacuation.
