RC-135V/W Rivet Joint tail number 139 surpassed 50,000 flight hours March 4, 2010 at a non-disclosed Southwest Asia location. The aircraft is only the second of its kind to reach this mark since the airframe first took flight in 1962.The RC-135 is a reconnaissance aircraft used to support theater- and nationa-level intelligence needs with near real-time on-scene collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities.
