Women’s Day

Mairamgyl Satieva, a Kyrgyz host national woman who works at the base cleaners, is happy to receive a mink coat at the Visitor Control Center March 7, 2010 in honor of Women’s Day March 8. Every Kyrgyz woman employed on the Transit Center was given a flower and card signed by director of the Transit Center as they entered the installation March 7. Mairamgyl Satieva was randomly chosen to receive the coat because she was the 100th woman to enter the Transit Center and this is the centennial anniversary of this holiday in Kyrgyzstan. Women’s Day here was celebrated in appreciation for the women from this country who serve the Airmen stationed and transiting through here. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Carolyn Viss/released)
