ZABUL PROVINCE, Afghanistan -- A crowd of U.S. military servicemembers and Afghans gather for the Arghandab Bridge opening ceremony Dec. 26. This bridge is approximately 200 meters long, four meters wide and has a high load-bearing capacity. Although simple, this bridge allows easy maintenance for the Afghans. Maj. Gen. Stephen Mueller, U.S. Air Forces Central Air Component Coordination Element director, Brig. Gen. Frederick Hodges, director of operations for Regional Command South, Brig. Gen. Guy Walsh, 451st Air Expeditionary Wing commander and Zabul’s Provincial Governor Mohammad Ashraf Naseri were some of the top officials in attendance.
