KC-10 gets new engine

KC-10 Crew Chief Staff Sgt. Kevin Brown, hands Staff Sgt. Jamie Sherwood, KC-10 engine mechanic and Staff Sgt. Joseph Dodson, crew chief, a torque wrench to help install the KC-10 Engine. This engine change took two days and tested the mechanical ability of the Airmen of the 380th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron after the engine hoist failed. They used alternative methods to raise and install the engine. Mechanical ingenuity assisted Airmen from the sheet metal and quality assurance shops who worked together along side the crew chiefs and engine mechanics to install the engine in this expeditionary environment where recourses are sometimes limited.
