BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Airmen and Soldiers at the Craig Joint Theater Hospital tend to a simulated “victim” during a mass-casualty exercise here Nov 13, 2009. Airmen and Soldiers found the exercise useful as just days later an insurgent rocket attack on a civilian marketplace in the Tagab Valley wounded many civilians. Thirteen Afghan civilians, many children and elderly men, were medically evacuated to Bagram’s hospital where Airmen put the exercise skills to use in the real-life scenario.
