Celebration of Eid ul-Fitr

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Staff Sgt. Robert Woltman, a 955th Air Expeditionary Squadron/Provost Marshal Office member, learns a dance from the Afghan locals during a celebration of Eid ul-Fitr, the Muslim feast that marks the end of fasting for Ramadan here, Sept. 22, 2009. Ramadan is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured from dawn until sunset. Sergeant Woltman is deployed from Dover Air Force Base, Del., and hails from Jacksonville, Fla. When asked how he felt about the celebration Sgt Woltman said "I think it's great to show the unity of the American and Afghan people during a celebration such as Eid."
