BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Tech. Sgt. John Lowe III, from the 455th Expeditionary Communications Squadron, uses a pry-bar to extract rocks from a network-cable trench, Aug. 20, 2009. The cable trench allows for communication equipment to be routed to nearby buildings. Machines used to dig the network-cable trench cannot cut through rocks this large. The "Cable Dawg" members must extract the rocks by hand. Sergeant Lowe is deployed from Ramstein Air Base, Germany and hails from Philadelphia. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Felicia Juenke)
