Administering the smallpox shot

Tech. Sgt. John Thong, 376th Expeditionary Medical Group, administers the smallpox inoculation to an Airman at the base clinic. The inoculation is required to preserve the health and safety of all military members deployed to the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility by preventing the spread of a contagious and deadly disease. Sergeant Thong is a medical technician deployed from the 47th Aeromedical Dental Squadron, Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.
