Tech. Sgt. Michael Leach and Staff Sgt. Gordon Torrey drive a "follow-me" truck to guide a C-17 to its parking spot at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Sept. 2. The C-17, from the 62nd Airlift Wing, McChord Air Force Base, Wash., was the 2,000th transient aircraft to land at Bagram for Air Expeditionary Force 1 and 2, which began May 7, for the transient alert team here. Two-thousand planes equates to an average of almost 17 aircraft transiting Bagram per day. Transient aircraft are those that arrive at Bagram to unload, or load, cargo and passengers to support Operation Enduring Freedom, then take off again and are not assigned here. Sergeant Leach is deployed here from Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., and Sergeant Torrey is deployed here from Pope Air Force Base, N.C. (US Air Force photo/Maj. David Kurle)
