Memorial Day

SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Kelli Roesch of Portland, Ore., wears a sign in honor of fallen servicemember Air Force 1st. Lt. Roslyn Schulte during a Memorial Day 5K run May 25. Lieutenant Schulte died May 20th in Afghanistan from a roadside bomb. Petty Officer Roesch trained with Lieutenant Schulte at Ft. Lewis, Wash., prior to their transfer to separate locations in the Middle East. "First Lt. Schulte was a great officer and even better person whose loss is rippling across many friends and fellow servicemembers who knew and admired her," said Petty Officer Roesch.
