SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Capt. Charles Bevan, 737th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron medical element, attaches a miller blade to a laryngoscope handle to check for adequate battery lighting power at an air base in Southwest Asia, May 26. This is used to provide a visual pathway into the trachea so an endotracheal tube can be properly placed to assist with the mechanical ventilation of a patient. Captain Bevan is currently deployed from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, and is originally from Salisbury, Conn. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Senior Airman Courtney Richardson)
