Since its maiden operational flight on a KC-135 Stratotanker, July 13, ROBE is revolutionizing combat operations in Afghanistan by bridging the different communications systems used by coalition aircraft and ground units, expanding communications coverage into the most remote reaches, and allowing more data to be rapidly shared among warfighters. Airman Allen is deployed from the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., and is a native of Nunn, Colo.
