Dilyara Manadeeva paints a wooden egg in Yuri's gift shop, March 9, at Manas Air Base, Kyrgyzstan. Ms. Manadeeva, a local Kyrgyz contractor, is an artist and has worked at the base for five years. She hand paints wooden eggs, personalized plates, nesting dolls, rocks, and does oil paintings. She said what she likes best about her job is seeing people's reactions and how happy they are when they see her finished products. She said she understands that people are away from and missing their families, so she tries very hard to do her best work for each person.
