SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Pennsylvania natives Lt. Col. Douglas Roth and Master Sgt. Larry Dell grew up strangers in Hanover and McSherrystown, Pa. Following a long series of unrelated events, the highway of life finally crossed paths for these two American patriots in the most unlikely of places with a bizarre connection to one another they didn’t previously know existed. Colonel Roth, from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., flew a U.S. flag on a mission from a previous deployment. It turned out that this family's name was Dell and they just so happened to be the family who would later babysit Col. Roth's brother's children. Sergeant Dell is from Dover Air Force Base, Dela.
