Operation Iraqi freedom

Members of the Iraqi Army load on an Iraqi Air Force C-130 Hercules before a flight to Basra, Iraq at New Al Muthana Air Base, Baghdad, Iraq on April 1, 2008. They are part of a group of 300 soldiers being transported to Basra by the Iraqi Air Force today. To date, all processing, loading and transporting of the Iraqi equipment and troops is being conducted by the Iraqi Air Force. The Iraqi Air Force has been flying several tons of ammunition and supplies as well as hundreds of troops to Basra daily with two C-130 Hercules during 24 hour operations. U.S. Air Force photo/Tech.
