(12/22/08) - Master Sgt. Alan Stremsterfer is this week's Diamond Sharp Airman. The 376th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron technician is deployed from the 134th Air Refueling Wing, McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tenn. During his deployment to Manas, Sergeant Stermsterfer has accomplished six critical Integrated Drive Generator changes including multiple cannibalizations which saved at least two KC-135 missions. According to his supervisor, “He even volunteered to deploy to Manas AB with his home unit, then volunteered to stay for the next ANG rotation enabling another maintainer to return home to spend Christmas with his family rather than being extended. He is a true citizen-soldier who represents the Air Force with pride in his community.
