Tech. Sgt. Abner Berrios a crew chief assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron removes the power cord from a C-130 Hercules after starting of the first engine, Dec. 13, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in southwest Asia. The C-130 primarily performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The aircraft is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas in the Central Command area of responsibility. Sergeant Berrios is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and deployed from Pope Air Force Base, N.C., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
