MANAS AIR BASE, KYRGYZSTAN -- Retired Soviet Air Force Capt. Valeri Kolodyzahni talks to Col. Murray Clark, 376th Expeditionary Operations Group commander, about his ejection from a MiG-15 over Damascus, Syria, in 1962; an event which ended a dynamic military career that included meeting the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin, while at test pilot school. The base hosted the veterans for an appreciation day visit, which included a tour, dinner and the kickoff of a new program established to assist them with some of their living expenses.
