10/21/2008 - SATHER AIR BASE, Iraq - Staff Sgt. Larry Jerdon, 447th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron aircraft services supervisor, uses a 10,000 pound forklift to gently pull a special security tower down the ramp of a C-5 Galaxy cargo aircraft. The tower is one of six units, each costing $1.6 million, designed to enhance force protection on and around the Victory Base Complex in Baghdad. The units were delivered by the 9th Airlift Squadron from Dover Air Force Base, Del. Sergeant Jerdon is deployed to Sather from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, McGuire Air Force Base N.J., and provides critical airport ramp services at Sather AB.
