10/15/2008 -- SATHER AIR BASE, Iraq - Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Daniels and fellow firefighters gather for safety and mission briefing in the burn building before a live burn exercise at Sather Air Base. Sergeant Daniels is a New York Air National Guard firefighter deployed to the 447th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron from the 105th Wing at Stewart Air National Guard Base. Sergeant Daniel's unit is responsible for fire protection and rescue operations for the base and airfield on the west side of Baghdad International Airport, one of the busiest aerial hubs in Iraq.
