Airman 1st Class John Quintanila, Tech. Sgt. Matthew Boyer, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Grato, all assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 34th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, position and lock an Auxiliary Power Unit into place Sept. 23, 2008. The APU had to be replaced after an interior leak was discovered. The work crew pulled the malfunctioning unit, prepared the replacement unit, and installed the new APU into a B-1 Lancer at this undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Sergeant Grato is locking the unit into place as Airman Quintanila and Sergeant Boyer position the unit for installation. The B-1, with long loiter times, massive payload, speed and precision weapons capabilities, provides valuable close air support to ground combatants engaged in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Sergeant Boyer hails from Saint Louis, Mo., Sgt. Grato from Saugus, Mass. and Airman Quintanila from Agat, Guam. All are deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Michael Boquette/Released)
