Staff Sgt. Scott Shipman, tow supervisor, drops the locking pin in place connecting a tow vehicle with a B-1 Lancer via the tow bar held in place by Airman 1st Class Brian Decker, Sept. 9, 2008. The tow vehicle will be used to back the B-1 into a parking space on the ramp at this undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The B-1 is called upon daily to support ground forces engaged in both Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. It carries the largest payload of both guided and unguided weapons in the Air Force inventory and is the backbone of America's long-range bomber force. It can rapidly deliver massive quantities of precision and non-precision weapons against any adversary, anywhere in the world, at any time. Sergeant Shipman is a native of Medina, Texas, and Airman Decker hails from Murphy, N.C. Both are assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 34th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, and are deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt.
