KIRKUK REGIONAL AIR BASE, Iraq -- An Iraqi air force maintenance airman salutes Major Scott McCartt, 52nd Expeditionary Flying Training Squadron instructor pilot, and an Iraqi air force student pilot as they pull out of their parking location for an early morning training flight here Sept. 1. The student pilot is part of the 52 EFTS's effort to help train the next generation of Iraqi pilots. Upon graduation, the Iraqi pilots are assigned to units that either conduct an airlift mission with C-130 aircraft, or an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission with King Air 350, Cessna 208 and CH-2000 aircraft.
