MANAS AIR BASE, KYRGYZ REPUBLIC -- Airmen from the Manas AB wing staff agencies present a donation check for $4,500 to Dr. Shabyraliev Esenbekovich, senior cardiac surgeon at the Institution of Cardiac Surgery and Organ Transplantation in the Kyrgyz Republic Capital of Bishkek, Aug. 18. The donation, raised by several dozen Airmen, was the largest single monetary contribution given by the base to the institution, also known as the “Children's Heart Hospital.” Along with another $2,500 donation from the Manas Air Base Outreach Society, the contributions will cover expenses for several surgeons to come from Moscow to perform life-saving surgeries on 10 children.
