JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq -- Airmen with the 332nd Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron here offload cargo from a C-5 Galaxy onto a K-loader here Aug. 16. The Galaxy is the largest cargo aircraft in the Air Force inventory and one of the largest in the world, with the ability to carry up to 270,000 pounds of cargo. Airmen with the 332nd ELRS process more than 950 aircraft, 240,000 pounds of cargo and 19,000 passengers per month, making Joint Base Balad, Iraq, the busiest aerial port operation in the Department of Defense.
