JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq -- Senior Airman Benjamin Sylvester checks the torque on an F-16 Fighting Falcon's bomb release unit's explosive cartridge retainers during maintenance here July 28. Inspections like these ensure that the F-16's weapons systems are functioning properly. The bomb release unit communicates with the aircraft's computer to release the bomb.
