U.S. Air Force Maj. Michael Parsons, an ophthalmologist assigned to the 455th Expeditionary Medical Group, checks the eye muscles of the left eye socket of an Afghan soldier prior to placing a prosthetic into his empty eye socket while at the Craig Joint Theater Hospital at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan Aug. 7, 2014. The soldier suffered an eye trauma when shrapnel from an explosion hit him four months ago.
