Doolitle Raid

379th Air Expeditionary Wing and 37th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron leadership watch as a B-1B Lancer takes off at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, April 18, 2014, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Today, the 37th EBS Tigers, one of the squadrons who executed the famous Doolitle Raid over Japan in 1942, will commemorate the event by executing their assigned mission over the skies of Afghanistan. As they fly they remember one of the most inspiring missions of World War II, and one of America’s early steps towards ultimate victory during the war.
