A Patriot Missile Weapon System managed by Soldiers from the 3-43 Air Defense Artillery Battalion who are deployed from Fort Bliss, Ga., faces the blue sky at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Jan. 22, 2014. The Patriot is the Army’s primary surface-to-air missile system and also functions as an anti-ballistic missile system, which protects the base from air and missile attacks.
